A new "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" teaser image has appeared on game developer Scott Cawthon's website.

Cawthon has been uploading images over the past couple of months to tease the game "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" that is being released in October. This latest image is certainly the most perplexing.

The image does not display the animatronic's head or face, so the identity is uncertain. It shows the wide, lower jaw of an animatronic. The jaw is open, revealing multiple rows of sharp teeth. Many fans believe it is Freddy Fazbear's jaw, neck and torso. There is also a row of sharp fangs stitched into the animatronic's stomach. There are fan theories that the purple bow tie hints at the Purple Guy, the murderer of the five children that haunt the game's animatronics.

The remaining details of the image are a mystery to most fans who have dubbed this version of Freddy as "Fat Freddy" because of his round belly.

Freddy's belly in the image bares similarities to Balloon Boy's, both in shape and the presence of the two buttons. The previous image Cawthon posted to his website showed Freddy's hat and bow tie, along with a reflection in the light. Some fans of the video game series suggest this is the image that was being reflected.

All of Cawthon's teaser images have hidden messages that can be seen if you brighten the image. If you brighten this image, the words "or was it me" appear visible along the left side. The phrase also appears on the previous Nightmare Foxy teaser.

The most interesting aspect of this teaser is the phrase found behind the teeth in Freddy's belly when the image is brightened. It reads "pr...me," reports Geeks Snack. While we cannot be certain what that spells, many speculate it communicates "probably me."

All of the teasers seem to suggest that the "Bite of 87" will be the central focus of "Five Nights at Freddy's 4." The numbers 8 and 7 have been revealed in the HTML code of Cawthon's website. The "Was it me?" question in the image teasers seems to ask which animatronic was responsible for the bite.
