Tournament favorites USA and Germany will collide in the semifinals of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup on Tuesday at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada.

The top two teams in the world found themselves in a collision course after taking down their respective rivals in the quarterfinals. Germany escaped with 5-4 win on penalties, while USA booked a spot in the final four of the tournament with a 1-0 victory over China.

Germany, who are the top-ranked team in the world, is looking to win their third World Cup. But like their quarterfinal match against France, Germany coach Silvia Neid is expecting another tough match.

Neid sees a "very heated" battle because USA are looking to take the top spot in the world rankings, while her players are determined to stay on top of the ladder.

"It is exciting, the first and second best team playing against each other," Neid told reporters via Eurosport. "I know the United States would like to be number one but we are still number one and we will try to show tomorrow that it is our position to keep. Both teams will want to make it to the final that is why I expect a very heated match."

USA striker Alex Morgan is also expecting an action-packed showdown with Germany. She told reporters that the upcoming match will be "like a final" because both teams are favored to win it all.

On the other hand, USA goalkeeper Hope Solo said that she is not thinking about what Germany can bring to the table in their upcoming semis showdown. She is confident that they will advance to the finals and can defeat any opponent in the World Cup as long as they will stick to their game plan.

"I could talk all day about Germany's strengths that they bring but ultimately it is about how we play," Solo told USA Today. "If we play our game it doesn't matter who we play, in the end we will come out on top."

Since their 3-1 win against Australia in their tournament opener, Solo has not surrendered a goal, and the 33-year-old goalkeeper will look to keep her streak on Tuesday in the hope of leading her team to the 2015 FIFA World Cup final against either England or defending champions Japan.
