The creator of some of Marvel comic books most legendary franchises of superheroes, Stan Lee, was rushed to the hospital on Sunday following a call that stated he wasn't feeling well, according to TMZ.

The legendary comic book creator was taken from his home in Hollywood Hills home to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but there had been no official word as to the nature of his emergency.

The incident, however, did not stop Lee from attending the premiere of "Ant-Man" on Monday night though, according to Comic Book.

Lee was feeling well enough the following day to get out and about for the film's premiere and he even felt up to being interviewed after the film.

"The only reason I came was to see my cameo," Lee said.

Back in 2012, Lee had been fitted for a pacemaker following heart surgery. He broke the news to his fans in the best way a person of his stature can, according to another article on TMZ.

"Attention, Troops!" he explained back then. "This is a dispatch sent from your beloved Generalissimo, directly from the center of Hollywood's combat zone!

"Now hear this! Your leader hath not deserted thee! In an effort to be more like my fellow Avenger, Tony Stark, I have had an electronic pace-maker placed near my heart to insure that I'll be able to lead thee for another 90 years.

"But fear thee not, my valiant warriors. I am in constant touch with our commanders in the field and victory shall soon be ours. Now I must end this dispatch and join my troops, for an army without a leader is like a day without a cameo!" Lee's statement read.

Lee is currently 92 years old and has been responsible for creating epic Marvel characters such as Spiderman, The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, X-Men, The Fantastic Four and many others over the decades.
