Fans of "Outlander" have all been kept up to date with major Season 2 news, such as casting announcements, locations, adaptation notes and even the novel the season will be based on. But what you may not know is that the cast is heading to Comic-Con this year on Saturday, July 11 and will hold their own panel, according to Design and Trend.

That's good news for fans of the show but what's even better news is what else the panel may be featuring. Aside from new casting announcements, Season 2 is already in production and that means that filming for the series has been on location with actors and scripts. So at Comic-Con this year, fans may get treated to the first sneak peek at Season 2, which is based of Diana Gabaldon's second novel in the series, Dragonfly in Amber.

The likelihood of this happening is based off last year's Comic-Con, which gave fans a first sneak peek at Season 1. Starz has been apt to keep the trend rolling, but Season 2 is still in delayed release until 2016. Reports say that it will likely be earlier in the year, possibly January.

The roles of Brianna Randall and Roger Wakefield have yet to be cast and that might be another big reveal this year at the legendary conference for all things comic, sci-fi and supernatural.

There has also been Emmy buzz for the series and fans around the world have taken to social media to push for the show to headline the category of Outstanding Drama Series, according to Zap2it.

Novel series author Diana Gabaldon recently sat down for an interview with Zap2it and revealed that she is humbled by the fan support for the prestigious Emmy award.

"I'm frequently astonished at both the extent and the enthusiasm of the fandom, but certainly very happy that they feel that way," Gabaldon told Zap2it. "The fans have taken the TV series into their hearts with equal -- if not greater! -- enthusiasm, and it's well-deserved. The show is a marvelous adaptation of the book, and every facet of the production, from writing, directing and acting to costume and set design, has been handled with an artistry, excitement and attention to detail that I've seldom seen in television."

Comic-Con International is held every year in San Diego. This year it will go from July 9 to 12.
