The 1D member is finally getting his groove on in the field after a fan-raved knee injury the past year, reports BBC.

"We are very much looking forward to Louis making his Rovers debut and I know that he can't wait either," said Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin in the report.

Louis' Doncaster Rovers debut September of last year was postponed due to a knee injury that the 1D member sustained at a charity game in Glasglow, says BBC in another report. Needless to say, Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor, the supposed "perpetrator" of Louis' knee injury received tons of threats from Directioners worldwide.

The 1D member's non-contract player agreement with the Doncaster Rovers stems from the singer's passion for football and his dream of signing to his home town club, according to the Rovers website.

Louis was set to wear Chairman John Ryan's number on his supposedly September 2013 debut, the Rovers website added. "I am honoured to let Louis play in my number to help raise money for the charity. I wore this in 2003 for my record beating appearance at Hereford and this is the first time I have allowed it to be used since but I felt this was a good cause," the chairman said.

It is not clear whether the 1D member will still be wearing number 28 this time around.

"He is a lifelong Rovers supporter and he comes to watch the team whenever he can, so it will be great for him to put on his Rovers shirt and make his debut for us," chief executive Baldwin told BBC.

The chief executive also added that the Rovers has been making efforts to be able to get the 1D member to debut on field - taking into account One Direction's very busy schedule.

The Doncaster-native 1D member will be on the Doncaster Rovers' reserve side next month and will do Central League for the very first time.
