Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran just might be dating, according to Hollywood Life. Rumor even has it that Justin Bieber was the one who made this new romance happen.

The “Who Says” singer and the “Thinking Out Loud” singer were reportedly spotted hitting it off at The Nice Guy in Los Angeles, which was where the album release party of Tori Kelly was held. However, when Gomez’s former boyfriend, Bieber, arrived, the rumored couple decided it was best to leave the party and take their date elsewhere.

“She definitely enjoys spending time with him,” the insider said, as stated in the latest issue of Star Magazine.

Apparently, Gomez was having fun with Sheeran at the party and asked him if he would leave with her since she could not deal with Bieber being at the same venue. “He totally had Selena’s back.” They might have been friendly at Kelly’s party, but they would not have left the scene together and transferred to a more private setting to get to know each other better if Bieber had not arrived that night.

According to Us Weekly, Bieber and Gomez had actually seen each other, but neither of them made any effort at acknowledging the other’s presence – except when “The Heart Wants What It Wants” songstress wanted to leave because her ex-boyfriend was there.

“Selena came with Ed,” an eyewitness relayed. “Bieber came with Scooter Braun. Justin and Selena each noticed that the other person was there, but they did not go over and say hello.”

They bought a few snacks from a nearby 7-Eleven branch and headed towards Gomez’s residence, which was where the two were rumored to have spent the night.. A photo of the two walking in the mart was posted on Hollywood Life. 

Although the former Disney child star may only ever see Sheeran “as a friend,” a source has confirmed that “she is warming up to the idea that there could be more there.”

Their common friend, Taylor Swift, was actually one of the strongest EdLena shippers. She has always been pretty vocal about wanting these two friends of hers to be together and maybe even work on a guaranteed hit track together.

“It was Taylor who suggested the pair team up,” the insider added. “She had so much success with Ed on her ‘Red’ album and thinks he would be a perfect songwriting partner for Selena. Taylor will always be thankful to Ed for helping her hone her talents and knows how talented he is to be able to help Selena out, too.”
