Young Money rapper Widner "Flow" Degruy was arrested and booked on Wednesday in connection with a Memorial Day double homicide in eastern New Orleans, reports The Times-Picayune.

Degruy, 23, and Jonathan Evans, 18, are suspected by New Orleans police of fatally shooting brothers Kendred and Kendrick "Muddycupbuddy" Bishop on May 25. Responding police found the brothers dead inside a black Kia sedan.

Evans was arrested on June 27 after being spotted by a former NOPD officer while walking and holding a handgun. Police apprehended Evans, but he attempted escape multiple times, including diving head first out a window at the NOPD's 3rd District station, according to the arrest report.

Investigators identified Degruy as a suspect after finding his cellphone at the scene of the brothers' shooting and reviewing surveillance footage from the area.

Detectives questioned Degruy on Memorial Day, but they did not have cause to arrest him. The "Wolf" rapper told police the brothers and an unknown person had dropped him off at his home and said they would return after running to the store, the warrant states.

Flow also told police the brothers did not return. When he heard gunshots, he left his house and ran down the street to find the Kia with both brothers inside, according to police.

"Mr. Degruy stated he attempted to call the police; however the screen to his phone was cracked," the warrant states. "Mr. Degruy became angry and slammed his phone to the ground. After becoming angry, Mr. Degruy leaves his phone and relocate(s) to his residence ..."

Surveillance footage from the area on May 25 showed Degruy and a man holding an assault rifle and running from the scene of the shooting.

Both Evans and Degruy face two counts of second-degree murder.

Hailing from east New Orleans, Flow signed on with the Young Money record label and released his first solo mixtape titled "Heroic Volume 1" in 2009. He also appeared on Lil Wayne's "Sorry 4 The Wait" mixtape where he can be heard on the track "Inkredible."
