The Peugeot RCZ-R is the fastest and most powerful car the European company has ever made.

The brand new vehicle is the latest in the Peugeot motor vehicles series and is priced at £31,995 (around $53,067). The engine is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 270 base horsepower and 247lb.ft.

The car is front-wheel drive with a six-speed manual gearbox and a top speed of 155 miles per hour. The car can reach 62 miles per hour in less than six seconds and has a fuel economy of 44.8 miles per gallon.

The wide tires have an aggressive new two-tone alloy wheel design. Peugeot Sport has tuned the dampers to increase the level of wheel contact, allowing the car to corner well while remaining flat throughout, plus giving the driver a high level of steering feedback.

Peugeot has been playing the motorsport game for decades with Group B rallying and Le Mans racing, but this car is by far the most serious vehicle yet.

"In more than 120 years of manufacturing cars, the RCZ R is a Peugeot like no other," a Peugeot spokesperson said. "Its exceptional performance and agility are the result of countless hours of bespoke development and attention to detail, followed by validation on and off the track with Peugeot Sport's experienced test drivers in control. The result is a sports coupé par excellence, a performance car with outstanding acceleration, braking and cornering stability."

The turbocharger gives the RCZ-R enormous pulling power starting from under 2000 revolutions per minute, with minimal turbo lag if used after 3000 rpm. As you'd expect, the ride is very comfortable due to the luxurious and heavily sculpted seats which hug your body closely. Car enthusiasts will want to take this one to a sports rally competition since the power, speed and looks are striking.
