The first photos of Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has just surfaced allowing anxious fans everywhere to catch a glimpse of their childhood heroes come to life.

The film has been shrouded in mystery and finally, the first few photos were posted by ComicBookMovie.com, taken by a production insider, but have already been deleted. Photos were of the concept and costume of the turtles as well as Shredder.

There is considerable pressure on the film's production because the buzz on the remake has been questionable but the leaked photos look quite promising. Although a number of sites who were able to show the pictures have since been taken down at the request of Paramount Pictures, Comics Alliance posted actual images of character designs for the turtles and a heavily-armored Shredder.

The film which was previously titled just Ninja Turtles has since renamed back to its proper title. Director Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle: Los Angeles) will take the lead in the film and the reboot is produced by Michael Bay, says Digital Trends.

GMA Network describes in detail the outfits of each turtle and notes that unlike the original comic books, the new film adopts the Turtles' more popular color assignments, while adding a few unique twists in the process. The turtles appear to be tough and threatening and no longer the friendly masked turtles who loved to joke around and eat pizza.

The Ninja Turtles stars have been named; Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, and Alan Ritchson as Raphael. The movie cast also features Megan Fox as April O'Neil, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fichtner as the Shredder.

Given all the negative feedback that has been looming over the film, Michael Bay has responded thru a form page, writes The Wrap:

"Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story... Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world."

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on August 8, 2014.
