Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo are in collision course that might culminate with the disgruntled Portuguese suiting up for another club in the coming months. As with all blockbuster deals, the transfer will come at a very stiff price.

With Rafael Benitez's tactical affection for Gareth Bale, Ronaldo seems to be the odd man out of Madrid. Nonetheless, the star forward would not have it any other way as he has subtly expressed his desire for a new scenery after Carlo Ancelotti's departure from the team.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is not gun-shy in pulling the trigger to let Ronaldo go. However, he is patient for the right offer.

This was evidenced by Middle Eastern reports over the weekend.

Paris Saint-Germain, backed by Qatar Investment Authority, offered 120 million euros or approximately $133 million for Ronaldo only to have it turned down by Real Madrid,  AS noted, citing reports from Rotana, Mlaib and Arabic Sports.

The reported botched deal allegedly came in the wake of Perez's July 4 meeting with PSG. The French-based team was rumored to have pounced on the opportunity to acquire Ronaldo and that they were intently following reports on the Portuguese's  displeasure with Real Madrid's new management.

But according to The Independent, PSG has brushed off claims that they were bidding for the star striker.

To be clear, Ronaldo has not asked for a trade yet the Los Blancos are open to all potential takers.

Ronaldo turned 30 years old in February this year.  He is at the peak of his soccer abilities and if there is a time for Real Madrid to get their money's worth out of him in a trade, now would be the best time.

One team in the running for the 2014 Ballon d'Or winner is his previous team, Manchester United.

Man-U is closing in on a deal that would send Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain worth £46 million or roughly $72 million. Club manager Louis Van Gaal is also targeting big name signings to add glamor back to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is on his radar but the 63-year-old  does not believe the club will go to great lengths to bring in the star forward, Express Sport UK reported.

"He may come," Van Gaal acknowledged. "Yes, of course the fans would love it and so would I. But it's not possible. Why not? Because you have his club Real Madrid, you have Ronaldo and then you have Manchester United - and how much Manchester United want to spend."

He added that the club is still in search for reasonable signings.

With the money they will shed from Di Maria's impending departure, a Manchester United-Cristiano Ronaldo reunion is not at all too far fetched.
