Chris Pine has inked a deal with Warner Brothers to star opposite Gal Gadot in "Wonder Woman."

According to The Wrap, Pine will star as Gadot's love interest Steve Trevor. Overall, the deal reportedly calls for him to be cast in multiple flicks that also include sequel options to "Wonder Woman."

Reports are the script will have Trevor's character delving a lot deeper than just playing Gadot's typical love interest. Although full plot details are being closely guarded, initial reports suggest that Trevor's role will be filled with numerous action-packed scenes.

The film is scheduled to be directed by Patty Jenkins, with Zack Synder and Deborah Snyder serving as producers alongside Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Richard Suckle. The script will be written by Jason Fuchs.

Recent rumors have also pegged Pine as up for a role in the WB's upcoming production of the "Green Lantern Corps." Thus far, there has been no indication if his "Wonder Woman" casting will impact those talks.

Entertainment Weekly adds the Jenkins' directed project "will help span the narrative space between Wonder Woman's first appearance in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,' and the eventual 'Justice League' double-hander."

In a recent interview with the magazine, Zack Snyder added of Gadot's character, "In a lot of ways, she's the gateway drug to the rest of the
Justice League." The film is slated to open in theaters in June 2017.

The soon-to-be 35-year-old is also in the process of wrapping up production on the upcoming "Star Trek Beyond" flick, in which he stars as Capt. James Kirk for a third time.

Pine has also starred in such films as "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, "Just My Luck," "Smokin Aces," "Unstoppable" and "This Means War."
