The mutual admiration society between Sarah Palin and Donald Trump seems to keep picking up steam with each passing day.

Trump recently waxed poetic about the possibility of including Palin in his administration, should he emerge victorious in his 2016 Republican run for the White House, CNN reports. Mere hours later, Palin returned the love in a fiery opinion piece she penned for Breitbart news.

Palin boldly predicted the billionaire real estate mogul will continue to appeal to "ordinary Americans," despite what she deemed as a litany of unwarranted attacks on him from party elites, pundits and the media at large. The former Republican vice presidential candidate and Tea Party favorite insisted that Trump's style and message will continue to resonate with voters.

She described the outspoken Trump's candidacy as "a shot in the arm for ordinary Americans fed up with the predictable poll-tested blather of squishy milquetoast career politicians."

Palin even defended Trump from the widening criticism he has received from conservatives that he often flip-flops on issues key to the base.

"[Trump] changed his mind on positions," she wrote. "Reagan had been an FDR Democrat. Should we hold that against him or be grateful he saw the light?"

As for reports Trump has contributed to several Democratic campaigns over time, Palin took the side of the candidate, arguing that Democratic support is the price of doing business in a city as liberal as New York.

Palin has yet to formally endorse Trump, but she has made her support clear for his message, one which largely resonates with voters who have long stood as some of her most staunch supporters.

"If you want to win again, GOP, you need these good people," she wrote.
