After a tumultuous lone season at Old Trafford, Angel Di Maria is moving on to the Parc de Princes.

Reports have indicated that the British club record £59.7 million star has agreed to join Paris Saint-Germain. Only the minute formalities are left to be ironed out.

The Argentinian has arrived in Doha, Qatar, on Monday to meet with PSG officials about his  impending £44.4 million transfer from United to PSG. He will then take a medical exam at the Aspire Centre before flying off to Paris to consummate the deal, Mail Online reported.

When the deal is officially inked, PSG will have paid approximately £15 million less than the amount United cashed out for the winger twelve months ago.

Di Maria's break-up with United was waiting to happen after the Premiere League season ended. The last straw came when he failed to join United for the club's pre-season tour of America after participating at the Copa America in Chile.

The disgruntled van Gaal frankly told reporters he didn't know where Di Maria was after United's 0-2 loss against PSG in Chicago, during their U.S. tour.

"I don't know where he is. You can ask that every week but I don't answer that question," The Independent quoted van Gaal as saying.

A United source has said the Dutch manager admitted fault in signing the 27-year-old midfielder.

"I think the manager realised he'd made a mistake with Di Maria and it wasn't going to work. Of course, Di Maria had a four-year contract and the club could have made him stay. But the manager felt that would be pointless if he didn't have the confidence Di Maria would produce what he wanted," the source told Mirror.

Meanwhile, United is rumored to be pursuing Barcelona forward Pedro as Di Maria's replacement.

According to Metro, referring to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, the Spaniard has told his family that he will be leaving Barcelona.

"The other day the mother of Pedro told us that he is leaving for England," Raqui San Isidro club president Jamie Lorenzo reportedly said. "I think it would be a good challenge for him and he would have more minutes."

The 28-year-old has a £22 million release clause in his current contract. He is to join United from Barcelona once the Di Maria transfer is completed.

Pedro is expected to arrive at United after Barcelona's UEFA Super Cup match with Sevilla on Aug. 11.
