CBS has found the actress to portray Lucy Lane in its upcoming superhero TV series, "Supergirl." It has been confirmed that Jenna Dewan-Tatum has signed with the network for a recurring role in the new show.

According to Variety, the wife of "Magic Mike" lead Channing Tatum has bagged the role of Lucy Lane in the CBS series. Her character is the younger sister of Lois Lane, known as the love interest of Clark Kent, the alter ego of Superman.

Dewan-Tatum's character, Lucy, is said to arrive to the series' story arc to "right a previous wrong," said The Hollywood Reporter. In the comics, the character has been romantically linked to Jimmy Olsen, played by Mehcad Brooks in the series.

It is unclear whether her character will bring a potential "love triangle" between Olsen and Kara Danvers or Kara Zor-El played by "Glee" alum, Melissa Benoist.

THR also described Dewan-Tatum's character as "brash, funny and beautiful." Not to be outdone by her more famous sister, Lois, she is also "strong, smart and successful in her own right."

The 34-year-old's character will join the series in the third episode.

This is not Dewan-Tatum's first foray into television. She was part of FX Network's "American Horror Story: Asylum" as well as "The Witches of East End."

DC's Lucy Lane already previously appeared on TV. She was also part of the characters in "Smallville" and actress Peyton List played the role for the series. List was seen in "The Flash" season 1 as Lisa Snart and will reprise her role in the next season.

Aside from Dewan-Tatum, Peter Facinelli is also confirmed to join the cast of "Supergirl." He will portray the role of tech billionaire Maxwell Lord who has become obsessed with Kara. His character is said to have a long rivalry with Cat Grant, played by Calista Flockhart, noted Coming Soon.

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg admitted that he, Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler are fans of the actor and have been "beyond thrilled" to have him as part of the cast.

"Sons of Anarchy" actor Chris Browning will also be part of the upcoming series as villain Ben Krull, also known as Reactron. According to TV Line's report, the villain will fix his eyes on Kara as he is unable to take revenge on Kal-El, also known as Superman.

Browning's character will reportedly debut on the series in the third episode.

"Supergirl" will premiere on October 26.
