Amanda Serrano wants to make mixed martial arts trainer Edmond Tarverdyan pay for his comments about boxing by defeating Ultimate Fighting Championship women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in a boxing match.

Serrano felt disrespected when Tarverdyan said that he has no doubt Rousey could easily become a boxing world champion if she decides to switch sport.

"I know she can do it," Tarverdyan told MMA Fighting, when asked if Rousey is capable of winning a boxing world title. "I know she wins the boxing world title. Ronda has nothing to prove to me. I know what kind of fighter I have on my hands."

Serrano, who has a 24-1-1 boxing record with 18 knockout victories, had nothing but praises for Rousey, who holds a perfect 12-0 MMA record, but the Puerto Rican boxing champion believes Tarverdyan knows nothing about boxing and that Rousey just looked great during her recent fights because her opponents cannot box properly.

"Definitely Rousey's trainer does not have any knowledge about the sport of boxing," Serrano said via Behind The Gloves. "She is a very good fighter in the Octagon, and I really congratulate her for everything she has done. Her opponents cannot box and it's easy to look great."

Rousey proved her dominance inside the Octagon at UFC 190 on Saturday in Brazil, when she defeated challenger Bethe Correia in just 34 seconds on Saturday in Brazil. But in a boxing match, Serrano is confident Rousey will not win against her because the UFC superstar showed poor boxing skills during her victory against Correia.

"As a boxing point of view, she looked like a rookie amateur fighter, throwing very wide punches with no coordination," Serrano said of Rousey. "I heard that Cyborg is not willing to come down to the lightweight division to fight Ronda, but I can go up to 135, and we can settle a boxing match so I can prove her trainer wrong."

Serrano believes she will not have any problem facing Rousey at 135 pounds because she managed to move up to the same weight class last year and she actually became a two-division world champion.

Jordan Maldonado, Serrano's trainer and manager, also issued a challenge to Rousey and Tarverdyan -- either a sparring or an official boxing match -- because he wants to earn respect for boxing.

"We do not challenge other fighting styles. We represent boxing and we want to get some respect," Maldonado said. "We are available for any sparring they may want or a boxing match, so we can show Edmond Tarverdyan how wrong he is about boxing."
