The Buffalo Bills signed linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali, a day after he was released from the New York Jets.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Buffalo Bills claimed the troubled linebacker off waivers from the Jets. Enemkpali, who broke the jaw of Jets quarterback Geno Smith over a $600 plane ticket, will join former Jets coach Rex Ryan in Buffalo.

According to The New York Times, Ryan addressed the altercation between Enemkpali and Smith, saying, "Nothing justifies hitting somebody, I recognize it was a mistake, but I also believe he will learn from this. We'll give him a chance to compete. There's no guarantee that this young man makes this team. But I do have supreme confidence in myself, especially when I know the individual."

On Tuesday, Smith suffered two fractures in his jaw after being punched by Enemkpali over a $600 plane ticket. He is expected to miss 6-10 weeks after undergoing surgery.

According to reports, it all started when Enemkpali confronted Smith about reimbursing him the money. Smith previously stated he would pay him back but never did. Smith put his fingers on Enemkpali's face and was reportedly being smug about the situation. It was at that moment Enemkpali punched him and broke his jaw.

This isn't the first time Enemkpali has been in a fight. According to ESPN, Enemkpali was involved in a bar fight after his freshman year at Louisiana Tech when he punched an off-duty officer. The officer pepper-sprayed him and used his Taser. He was eventually arrested and charged with battery on a police officer.

Now he has a second chance with the Buffalo Bills with Rex Ryan's defense.

This Bills/Jets rivalry just got a bit more personal.
