The speculation and rumors can finally stop. Orange is the New Black Season 2 finally has an official release date. The hit Netflix Original Series will drop in its entirety on June 6. Every delicious, juicy episode will be available to binge watch. Besides going to St. Barths or Martha's Vineyard, can you think of a better way to spend your summer? No... I didn't think so.

Now let me quickly recap the first season for you. Thirty-something yuppie Piper Chapman (amazingly acted by Taylor Schilling) is sentenced to 15 months in prison for a drug smuggling operation she was involved with a decade earlier. It turns out that her former lesbian lover Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) gave Chapman to the Feds. Vause didn't just give Chapman up for a lighter prison sentence, however -- she hated the way Chapman left her. To complicate matters further, Chapman is now dating Larry Bloom (American Pie's Jason Biggs). Sounds exciting right? It's also based on Piper Kerman's life-story.

Now, Netflix didn't announce OITNB's return date in a fancy schmancy press release. Instead, they slyly inserted the welcome news into the credits of the season 2 finale of House of Cards. For those of you who are woefully unaware, House of Cards is another excellent Netflix produced show. Stop what you are doing right now and watch both shows.

You may think I'm overhyping OITNB. But you'd be wrong... very wrong. OITNB is a national treasure (though unfortunately it doesn't star Nicholas Cage). In addition to being a great show, it also just happens to be the most-watched Netflix Original Series to date. Netflix doesn't release Nielsen ratings like traditional TV stations do. So you'd have to take them at their word.

It's nice to see Netflix bounce back after their disastrous Qwikster-spinoff tanked the stock price. Every new show it brings to its popular streaming service helps users forgot about that snafu. So if you love TV series with memorable characters, engrossing plot lines, and no commercials, get a Netflix account.
