Microsoft may be unveiling the newest series of its hailed collection soon. The much-awaited Surface Pro 4, Band 2 and the two newest Lumia flagship models will be unleashed as early as mid-October, according to reports.

Citing rumors, Phone Arena noted that the launch date of Microsoft's latest line of hardware devices - Surface Pro 4, Band 2, Microsoft Lumia 940 and Microsoft Lumia 940 XL - is pegged on October 19.

The lauded Surface Pro 3 impressed many users, and Microsoft is looking for the same success in the sequel Surface Pro 4. In a report by The Verge, there are rumors that although the fourth installment of the tablet series will not be a "drastic change," Windows Hello support might be included in the tablet.

Surface Pro 4 will also likely showcase Intel's new Skylake processor and Windows 10, a report by Digitimes said. Those who fell in love with the ultra-thin and big-screened Pro 3 can expect the same from the upcoming sequel.

Impressive specs will set the newest mobiles of Microsoft apart from the competition. The Microsoft Lumia 940 XL will reportedly feature a 5.7-inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution, the Snapdragon 810 SoC, an octa-core CPU, an Adreno 430 GPU, 20MP back camera and a 5MP front camera. The memory is a standard 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It will also carry an iris scanner and a USB Type-C port.

On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 940 is equipped with similar specs. Differences include a smaller 5.2-inch screen, a hexa-core CPU and an Adreno 418 GPU.

While there are few reports that share specifics on the Microsoft Band 2 wearable, the gadget is likely scheduled to be introduced during the same event.

The report from The Verge revealed that various surprise announcements may occur during the October event, including a rumored slimmer Xbox One to add to the company's console selection.

Other speculations revolve around the Surface Mini, which earlier reports say should have been released the previous year, at the same time as Pro 3. Although the device was pulled back before the launch date and there are no confirmations on the project, the rumors regarding its re-emergence continue as October approaches.
