Texas Rangers' outfielder Josh Hamilton is seeking a buyer for his Newport Coast property currently listed at nearly $15.88 million, according to the Orange County Register.

The 34-year-old athlete had significantly reduced his asking price for the estate by chopping $612,000 off it, added the report.

In April, Hamilton listed the three-level beach property, which he acquired for only $12 million in 2013, for $16.5 million, Los Angeles Times noted. Thus, even with a great discount, Hamilton is still set to get almost four million in profit, from selling the house.

Features of the home

The 10,900 square-foot dwelling place is described to be sitting on the highest level of the Crystal Cove community, thus, it boasts stunning and sweeping ocean views, including other wonderful sights such as the Santa Catalina Island and the nearby coastline, the Times informed.

The expansive abode resting on half an acre of land includes an infinity-pool and an outdoor kitchen. The next owners can easily arrange a barbecue party outdoors with these amenities.

The multi-story home built in 2013 also features six bedrooms, eight-and- a-half baths, living and dining complex, parlor room, home office, a modern kitchen with an island, a wine cellar, game room, and a home theater. In addition, the mansion comes with a car garage that could accommodate eight cars.

Going Back to Texas

His brief time in California was challenging for Hamilton since he had a "substance-abuse relapse" and he even filed for divorce from his wife, Katie, the Orange County Register recalled.

In April, he went back to the Rangers from the Angels via a trade.

The Rangers welcomed him with open arms, with Rangers Manager Jeff Banister believing Hamilton is tailored for baseball and that it will do him good, too.

"I know he loves playing this game.I'm sure there's some peace in playing this game for him... I'm sure given who Josh Hamilton is, to be out on the field playing and doing what you were born to do, it's pretty special," Banister told the Washington Post.

For his part, Hamilton is happy to be back now that he's playing for the Rangers once more.

"When it was made clear to me the Angels wanted to move me, my first choice was the Rangers. I have a lot of good memories here. Looking back on it, if I could change the past, I would have stayed here," Hamilton said, as quoted by MLB.com.
