The film adaptation of the novel "Nocturnal Animals" will premiere sometime next year, following one of the most talked about deals from Cannes Film Festival this year, which has drawn quite a haul for worldwide recognition, according to Deadline.

The movie stars Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kim Basinger, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and Michael Shannon, and just recently added Armie Hammer as well.

The story is about a woman named Susan Morrow (Adams) who receives the first book from her ex-husband in a package that seems to be from an unknown sender. Her journey takes place within the book, as she gets engulfed into the stories and becomes absorbed into the world.

One of the stories starts off with a man named Tony Hastings (Gyllenhaal), and it is his ordinary life that draws her in. But what was once considered normal for the character gets turned upside down.

The character Hastings gets his life upended, and his ordinary existence turns into something too hard for him to handle. Violence puts the character in peril, and once he regains his footing, his life will have changed forever.

Of course, this mirrors the experiences of Morrow, who herself has issues to deal with. It forces her to confront her own past and make decisions that will help her move forward.

The film's title is the same as one of the stories within the book. Hammer has been cast as Adams' on-screen husband in the film.

The film is one of the most high profile deals at Cannes this year, worth over $20 million. The deal was struck with Focus Features to handle the worldwide distribution rights. Distribution was worked out before the project had even begun production yet.

Filming for the movie is set to begin in the fall sometime, and Tom Ford is set to write, direct and produce the feature.

There has been no word yet as to when the film will be released.
