The Air Jordan 9 Retro will make its return to the sneaker market this weekend and it is expected to be among the best-selling models in the coming days.

The popular retro model will arrive at retailers in what is called as the "Anthracite" edition, which is officially listed as the Anthracite/White-Black colorway.

The Air Jordan 9 "Anthracite" edition has a dark grey-based nubuck upper part combined with black lining and laces along with white lace eyelets. It was finished off with a black midsole and anthracite outsole. It also has white Jumpman logos on the outsole and "23" stitching on the heel area.

Unlike other Air Jordan retro models, the remastered Air Jordan 9 has the popular molded lace loop, which was removed on previous retro shoes, Nike wrote on the official product page.

According to Nike, the outsole of the shoe also has different symbols and characters, which were placed to pay tribute to how Michael Jordan revolutionized basketball worldwide.

"Michael Jordan loomed large in the sport of basketball," Nike noted. "From the city of Chicago to the worldwide stage, His Airness dominated the global landscape of basketball. The Air Jordan 9 encompassed all of this into one shoe, with different languages and symbols on the outsole as well as a simple and clean upper."

The Air Jordan 9 Retro "Anthracite" will be released on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET with retail price set at $190 per pair. It will be available on Nike.com and selected retailers worldwide. More information and photos of this version are available on the official product page.

Is It A Remake of the Air Jordan 9 Retro "Oregon" PE?

Images of the Air Jordan 9 Retro "Anthracite" surfaced online in May and most sneakerheads noticed that it is almost similar to the Air Jordan 9 Retro that were made available exclusively for University of Oregon athletes.

Most fans wanted to their hands on the Oregon PE, but it was not released on the market. According to Nike Blog, the Air Jordan 9 Retro "Anthracite" is the "next best thing" for those who wanted to get the Oregon edition.

One notable difference is that the "Oregon" edition has an "O" stitching on the heel, while the "Anthracite" has a black Jumpman logo. Photos of the Air Jordan 9 Retro "Oregon" are available on this link.
