Along with Yeezy fans, it appears as if the White House is also anxiously waiting for Kanye West to launch a 2020 presidential campaign.

The "I Am a God" rapper made a shocking announcement at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, telling the crowd that he's planning to run for president in 2020.

"I don't know what I finna lose after this. It don't matter, though; It's not about me. It's about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth," said the hip-hop superstar during an acceptance speech. "And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

Although it's unclear how serious he is about actually running for president, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest revealed that he has entertained the idea of Kanye West as commander-in-chief.

While traveling aboard Air Force One with President Barack Obama to Alaska, Earnest told reporters that he is actually looking "forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat," reports the AP.

Ernest was jovial towards West.

Obama himself has actually expressed disdain towards the rapper in the past. In fact, the president called the rap star a jacka after he interrupted Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs, and then again during an interview with The Atlantic in 2012.

Earlier this year, Obama also called out West for claiming that they have had phone conversations.

"I've met Kanye twice. The first time was when I was a senator and he was with his mom. He'd just gotten big," the president said on Jimmy Kimmel Live. "He's from Chicago, so they wanted us to meet, and he was very soft-spoken and very gracious. He was a young guy, and hadn't quite come into his own."

Obama added, "And about six months ago, he came to an event and, look, I love his music and he's incredibly creative. I don't think I've got his home number."

Although West may not get an endorsement from Obama, he can count on getting support from Rihanna.

"I mean, people are voting for [Donald] Trump. Who wouldn't vote for Kanye?!" the 27-year-old pop princess told Entertainment Tonight.
