Recording artist Teyana Taylor is five months pregnant with professional basketball player Iman Shumpert's child.

It is the first child for Taylor, 24, and the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard, 25, and the baby is a girl. The NBA player and part-time rapper announced the news on Wednesday via Instagram along with this ultrasound picture:

Shumpert's joy came through loud and clear in the picture caption.

"When a man loves a woman how she was born to be loved... procreation is the best blessing you can receive! I couldn't be more happy than to share my first child with the woman I intended to have my family with," he wrote

Shumpert said that the baby girl's name will be Iman Tayla Shumpert, Jr. She is expected to arrive into this world on Jan. 16, 2016.

"We want that world to be as pure as possible for her. We people, show the world what we feel the world should see when we want them to see it... something this beautiful had to be announced when we were ready for everyone to know... this is what happiness grows into! I love you @teyanataylor thank you for your sacrifice in starting our very own family! P.s. I know you see my daughter with her hand behind her head and her feet kicked up... she's already daddy's little girl!!!" he wrote.

Taylor was in Miami this week to host a Ladies Night at Justin's nightclub on Wednesday when her beau made the big announcement.

Shumpert's departure from the Knicks to the Cavaliers and Taylor's travel to perform concerts has not impacted their relationship, it seems. No doubt the first time parents will be spending much more time together when their baby girl arrives in the new year.

The couple live together at Shumpert's home in Atlanta, Georgia.

Taylor, who has sang since she was a child, gained the public's awareness when her episode on MTV's "My Super Sweet Sixteen" aired in 2007. It was a show depicting over-the-top 16th birthday parties of rich teenagers.

That same year, she also appeared in Jay Z's music video for the single "Blue Magic," in which she danced.

In 2007, Taylor signed a recording contract with Pharrell Williams' Star Trak Entertainment imprint. She released her first track "Google Me" in 2008, which was the lead single from her debut mixtape "From a Planet Called Harlem."

In 2012, she requested a release from Star Trak to sign with Kanye West's GOOD Music label and The Island Def Jam Music Group. She released her first studio album "VII" in 2014.
