There is another brave fighter who stepped up and summoned the ferocious unbeaten Kazakh warrior Gennady "GGG" Golovkin for a fight.

World Boxing Organization middleweight champion Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KOs), who is set to defend his crown against Billy Joe Saunders, is looking ahead for a unification battle against World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization king Gennady "GGG" Golovkin, Boxing News reported.

Lee reportedly knows that Golovkin is a special fighter who can knock out the International Boxing Federation champ David Lemieux in four to five rounds on Oct. 17 at the Madison Square. Still, Lee just wants to know if he is up for this kind of challenge.

"Who can measure power? But in terms of one-punch power, I've had a lot more one-punch knockouts than he [Golovkin] has. I'm taller than him and I'm a southpaw. He's dealt with everything that'€™s been put in front of him, you have to give him credit, he's probably the pound-for-pound best. If he fought Mayweather, he's beat Mayweather some way. You can't fault Golovkin, you have to admit he's the best in the division for what he's done and what he's shown. But I'd like to give it a go... You want to fight the best, you want to see how good you are," Lee said.

It is indeed a great news for boxing fans to hear that Lee is not scared of Golovkin, whose 91 percent KO rating, per BoxRec, is enough to spread terror among his possible foes. Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), who is also determined to unify the middleweight division, according to Boxing Scene, may now be wishing for Lee to successfully defend his title against Saunders, as the WBO champ's challenger will most probably just duck him anyway.

"I would never go into a fight thinking I could lose. Ever - but I don't care what money it was, I just wouldn't do it [fight GGG]," said Saunders to IFLTV, as quoted by Boxing News 24.

Thus, if Saunders triumphs over Lee, he could be a hurdle in "GGG's" unification goal. However, if Saunders will not do it for money, he might as well do it for honor or fame. There's a chance that Golovkin will be sporting three or four belts already when he invites Lee or Saunders for a face-off. Golovkin may face the winner of the Lee vs. Saunders fight once he gets past the Canadian boxer this fall or captures the World Boxing Council crown from either Miguel Cotto or Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Perhaps, this exciting thought may also have crossed Andy Lee to seriously consider a dangerous battle against the knockout master.
