The cast list for the highly anticipated supernatural drama thriller coming to Netflix, "Stranger Things," has been filling out quite rapidly. According to Deadline, Cara Buono is the latest to join the show.

The series, which was previously named "Montauk," is set in Indiana in the year 1980 and features a supernatural and thrilling theme. It all starts when a young boy disappears in the town. He just vanishes into thin air.

The drama unfolds when the town bands together and tries to help the boy's mother Joyce (Winona Ryder) find her young son. The action takes place when clues become apparent that there is a top-secret government cover up. That secret slowly evolves into a supernatural presence in the town, and the characters have a hard time reconciling with what they see.

Buono has been cast as Karen, the mother of two young children who are assisting in the hunt for the young boy and the answers that Joyce so desperately needs.

Also joining the cast is Ross Partridge, who will be filling the role of Lonnie, Joyce's ex-husband. The show will also feature Finn Wolfhard as the 12-year-old boy who will become the unlikely hero for the series.

Ryder was cast early on in the series production to play the female lead for the show. Over the past few months, the show has changed a few courses, renaming the project and filling out the cast with David Harbour set to co-star alongside Ryder in the series.

Harbor will play the chief of police in the town and he is highly involved with the town's efforts to find the young boy. It is unclear at this time if he will portraying a love interest for Ryder in the film.

There has been no word yet on an official premier date on Netflix, but it is expected to come out sometime in 2016.
