Newlywed celebrity couple Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed has acquired a wonderful retreat home.

Somerhalder, "The Vampire Diaries" star, and Reed, the actress who appeared on "Twilight" as the gorgeous Rosalie Hale, bought a Venice estate for $2.85 million, Variety reported. The Hollywood pair reportedly purchased it from Chad Smith, the drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, who only bought it for himself last year.

The nearly 2,800-square-foot residence includes three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. Other living spaces within the property include a dining room with raised ceilings, living room and a chic and trendy kitchen with an all-white motif.

The "Sleepy Hollow" actress and the "Lost" actor's master suite has its own private balcony, aside from other amenities like a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a soaking tub and large shower. The report also notes that it is "sky-lit," which makes it more romantic for the two celebrities who only got married in April in the Santa Monica mountains, per Daily Mail's report.

The interiors are said to showcase an "eco-architectural" kind of dwelling place, courtesy of its utilization of reclaimed wood for a more natural look and its display of spanning glass walls, allowing much natural light to enter for a more vibrant and bright atmosphere. Yet, even with this inspiration, much of the aesthetic and modern vibe remains as the house also features 25-foot-high ceilings in some areas, smooth flooring and sleek lines for an upbeat appeal.

A common love

Reed already felt that she and Somerhalder are so right for each another, making her excited to be his wife.

"Honestly just the endless possibilities, you know? We have such an amazing future ahead of us and anything we put our minds to will become a reality. I'm just excited for all those possibilities," Reed told People in January.

However, what really made it click for the pair, who began dating in July 2014, was their love for animals, with the 27-year-old actress saying that she feels lucky that the 36-year-old actor and she "are on the same page with animals."

This is also what Somerhalder is proud about her wife, Us Weekly noted.

"The amount of compassion fueled by passion that she puts into the world in regards to animals is second to none. I mean she changes her house into a rescue and a foster home for so many animals... and make sure that they are safe. That in and of itself is really something that solidifies us as a unit that really is an amazing thing to wake up to every morning," the Louisiana-born actor said.
