The big question right now is whether Batman would be able to take on Superman, but another major big screen character wants a shot at the Caped Crusader.

According to Matt Damon, one of his most famous characters Jason Bourne will be able to beat his best friend Ben Affleck's Batman with no problem. The A-list actor took the time to talk about the fictional fight between the two characters as he promoted "The Martian" in the Toronto International Film Festival.

"Jason Bourne would kick the s--t out of Batman-absolutely!" Damon told E! Online without hesitation.

He pointed out, "Batman's gotta take on Superman first. If he could beat him then maybe he could take on Jason Bourne."

Although Damon believes his character can beat Affleck's, he is first in line to support his childhood friend in the iconic role, according to MTV. He said, "I talked to him about it. It was a big decision."

"Once he was able to get Chris Terrio to write the script, I think that made the decision for him," he continued. "Chris is a fantastic writer and Ben really liked Zack [Snyder], who's directing, and it was like, 'well, I've got all the pieces that are necessary.'"

He's vocal in his support for Affleck's endeavor, but Damon has no plans in following in his friend's footsteps and taking on a comic book role of his own. In an era of superhero adaptations and remakes, it's surprising that this Hollywood favorite got overlooked.

"I think they're kind of out of superheroes," Damon responded when asked about it by E! Online. "Ben's going to be like the sixth or seventh Batman, so I don't think there's really any left. So I'm good."

He concluded, "Jason Bourne is my superhero."

The famous spy is certainly a superhero in his own right. In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor spoke about how glad he is to be back in the familiar set of the "Bourne" saga.

"We haven't been on the set of a 'Bourne' movie in nine years, but it didn't feel like that last week," Damon said. "We just had our first week and we kind of got back in the swing of things, it feels good."

The fifth installation of the franchise will feature Damon, Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, Tommy Lee Jones and Vincent Cassel.

The untitled "Bourne" film will reportedly hit theaters on July 29, 2016.
