Two important people in Liv Moore's life may clash in the first episode of "iZombie" in season 2 as Detective Clive pursues the "Meat Cute" case which involves Major in a big way.

Executive producer Rob Thomas reveals on TV Line that Liv's (Rose McIver) murder investigation partner Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) is going deep into the "Meat Cute" case and her ex-fiancé Major (Robert Buckley) may get in trouble, especially as his attitude towards Liv is not totally helpful.

"Liv is not avoiding Major, but Major is avoiding Liv. In the first episode back, she's trying to reach out to him, trying to get ahold of him because Clive continues to dig into the Meat Cute case. She is his alibi, and she needs desperately to talk to him, but Major is ducking her," Thomas shared.

In last season's finale, while at the Meat Cute shop, Clive saw the sneakers of the dead man in Major and accused him of being linked to the disappearance of the two minors he was supervising at a shelter home. Clive ordered for another police officer to find Major and have him tested for gunpowder. He became Clive's suspect in this incident as he had a motive.

It will be intriguing how Major could get out of this difficult situation after he actually went there killing zombies. Will Liv reveal the truth about her being a zombie to Clive?

Blaine has a new business, Peyton is "still gone"

Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders), who changed Liv into a zombie via a scratch, was turned back into human by Liv in the finale, courtesy of Ravi's (Rahul Kohli) invention. Blaine will be seen happy being a human again.

"He's loving the food. He enjoys gloating when he runs into Liv. There are some things that he misses, but he would absolutely vote for human if given the choice," Thomas shared with TV Line.

Aside from that, Thomas noted that Blaine will be seen handling a "new business" when the show returns on Oct. 6, since the Meat Cute shop was already blown up, via Lieutenant Suzuki's (Hiro Kanagawa) action. Will it be as bad as his former endeavor of killing people and selling their brains to the rich zombies he created? What's interesting is that he still did not reveal that he changed back to his human state, per Thomas' statements, so there's something mysterious there.

For those who love Liv's roommate, Peyton (Aly Michalka), although she will return this season as confirmed by the actress, per The Hollywood Reporter, she may not be seen patching things up with Liv on the first episode, Thomas shared.
