Who knows if the Los Angeles Lakers will be able to secure a spot in the upcoming NBA season? Their chances are certainly better with franchise player Kobe Bryant taking to the court healthy and hungry for another title.

According to the Bleacher Report, the Lakers guard is good to go for the 2015-16 NBA season. Sources reportedly said that Bryant "has been medically cleared for all basketball activities," leaving him free to lead his young teammates to another bid for a ring. A torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder limited the Lakers superstar and ended his previous season after playing just 35 games out of 82.

The Lakers will face the tough Western Conference as an underdog after failing to make the playoffs the past two years, the first time the team has missed back-to-back playoff runs for almost 30 years. However, Bryant remains confident of his team's chances in the upcoming season telling Yahoo! Sports last month that he liked the direction the team is going.

"They have really set themselves up for a promising future going on years," he explained during the interview. "I think they drafted very well. The free agents that we picked are extremely solid, [Roy] Hibbert, [Brandon] Bass, Lou [Williams]. We have a very good mix of young and veteran leadership. The challenge is going to be blending the two and cutting down the learning curve."

When asked about the Lakers' playoff chances, the 17-time All-Star was certain that they have the tools to compete with other teams in the league.

"Absolutely," Bryant said. "We have talented players in their respective positions. We have some really young players. How exactly will the pieces of the puzzle fit? We really don't know. We are going to [training] camp trying to piece this together just like every other team does. We have to figure out what our strengths are, figure out what our weaknesses are. And every time we step on the court we are going to try to hide our weaknesses and step up to our strengths."

The future Hall of Famer is entering the last year of his contract but has not announced definite plans for retirement. During the interview he said that he feels good, but will see how the upcoming season will go before deciding to end his career or not.

He stated, "Either I like playing some more or I don't. But I think that decision needs to be made after the season. It's hard to make a decision like that before the season."
