Actress Nina Dobrev has been cast in the movie "Arrivals," alongside actors Asa Butterfield of "Ender's Game" and "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams.

According to Deadline, the 26-year-old star has been cast as a character named Izzy, who is a flight attendant and the love interest of Butterfield's character. The film is set to be directed by Peter Hutching.

Meanwhile, Dobrev has been busy promoting her latest project, the comedic slasher film "The Final Girls," at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film, to be released in select theaters on Oct. 9, is about a girl named Max Cartwright (Taissa Farmiga) who finds herself stuck in a horror film called "Camp Bloodbath" with her friends, including Dobrev.

"She doesn't have a censor," Dobrev said about her character Vicki. "She's like, 'This guy's gonna kill me, we need a f-ing chainsaw, we need to do this!'"

Dobrev is well known for her role as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries," a teen drama based on the books by author L.J. Smith. She announced her departure from the successful television drama in April and told People Magazine that she was torn on her last day of filming.

"I'm excited for the next step but also very sad to leave this chapter," Dobrev said. "But I'll get to see them -- they're friends of mine that are very near and dear to my heart, and hopefully they're going to be friends I'll have for the rest of my life."

Regardless of her departure from "The Vampire Diaries," the actress recently revealed that she is still very much looking forward to Season 7 of the CW series, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"I'll be watching. I'm very excited for my friends," she said about the new season, while also revealing that fans shouldn't expect her to return to the series. "That chapter is closed, sadly -- bittersweet," she added.
