A week before the Microsoft Windows 10 hardware event, photos and details about the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL were accidentally posted on the Microsoft online store.

According to The Verge, Microsoft did not intend to release the features for the Lumia devices until their press event on Tuesday. The company has since taken down the images and specs for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL from the website, but details are already out on the new devices.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL will both be available unlocked and will feature 20 megapixel (MP) rear-facing cameras. Both phones will start with 32GB of internal storage, but will be expandable to an incredible 2TB with microSD cards. The Lumia 950 will have a 5.2-inch screen, while the Luma 950XL will feature a 5.7-inch screen.

The Lumia 950 and 950XL are updates to last year's Lumia 930, a high-end smartphone from Microsoft.

The larger Lumia 950XL was originally code-named the "Cityman," and it comes with some exciting new features. The 950XL will allow owners to use the Surface Pen from the Microsoft Surface tablets to interact with the smartphone. Also, a special smart cover will have a circular cut-out that will allow users to easily see notifications.

Finally, an earlier leaked image showed the Lumia 950XL attached to an accessory that can be connected to additional USB devices like an external PC. This means that a task can be started on a Windows 10 PC and then continued on the Lumia 950XL.

Both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL will use USB Type-C ports and be compatible with wireless Qi charging.

The Lumia 950 will use the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, while the Lumia 950XL will use the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor.

Microsoft is expected to announce the new smartphones at the Windows 10 hardware event, along with new Surface tablets and wearable devices.
