Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is less than three weeks away from release, and Ubisoft announced the file size for the game for the Xbox One.

Unfortunately for Xbox owners, the game will take up a significant amount of space on Xbox One hard drives. According to Gamespot, Syndicate will take up 40.27GB on Xbox One.

As for the PlayStation 4, the file size has not yet been listed in the PlayStation Store product page. The file size for PC will also be available at a later date.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft recently announced that microtransations will return in this series entry. While entirely optional, these microtransactions will allow players to speed up the game. Ubisoft development director Francois Pelland recently stated that microtransactions will not affect the main story in anyway.

"Assassin's Creed Syndicate will include paid options to save time and accelerate progress," he stated. "The model for Assassin's Creed Syndicate is quite similar to Black Flag, allowing players who do not have time to fully explore our huge game world to still be able to eventually acquire the game's most powerful gear as well as other items. Rest assured, all of AC Syndicate's content is available without paying anything additional and the game has been balanced such that microtransactions are 100 percent optional."

Assassin's Creed Syndicate marks the first time in the series that the player can freely switch between two different protagonists, Jacob and Evie Frye. It will also be the first main entry in the series to feature a playable female protagonist.

Male lead Jacob Frye is meant to be more of a hot-headed brawler, specializing in close combat, while his twin sister Evie is strong in stealth and relies on her intelligence and wit.

In addition, the series introduces its first transgender character. Looks like Ubisoft is creating a more diverse world in its franchise.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate will be available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on Oct. 23. The PC version of the game will be available on Nov. 19.
