Kate Hudson and Nick Jonas' recent retreats together have fueled rumors that the pair may be dating. However, news has come out that the couple's time together was only a temporary "fling."

"It was just a fling," a source close to Hudson tells People. "It's definitely not anything serious. They are both single and seeing other people too. Kate's mostly focusing on her boys and doesn't want a serious relationship right now."

The 36-year-old actress was seen gallivanting around Disney World with the 23-year-old singer in late September. They were also seen enjoying themselves while eating brunch together in Miami. Hudson attended Jonas' concert at the House of Blues as well.

"I'm definitely dating and hanging out," Jonas told People during the LA premiere of the second season of his DirectTV show "Kingdom" on Tuesday. "I am single, but I'm hanging out with people and just getting to know people and enjoying seeing what's out there."

Representatives for both stars declined to comment when contacted by People.

Jonas recently broke up with his longtime girlfriend, former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo, in June. He has also been linked to Kendall Jenner, but rumors of the two dating turned out to be false.

Hudson called it quits with Muse front man Matt Bellamy last year. The couple are parents of 4-year-old son Bingham "Bing" Hawn, and were engaged for three years. The actress is also mother to 11-year-old son Ryder.

In addition to taking care of her two sons, Hudson is focusing on her upcoming Fabletics fitness clothing line, which she teased with a photo of her toned abs on Instagram on Tuesday.

"This little bra and boyshort with little tiny hearts all over it @fabletics #SneakPeek #ValentinesDay2016 #fabletics," she wrote in the caption.

Hudson can next be seen in the film "Mother's Day" alongside Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis and Hilary Duff. The film's tentative release date is April 29, 2016.
