It looks like Ant-Man will get a new look in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War."

Recent promotional pictures for the film have showcased a new look for the minute superhero.

His helmet is lacking the red stripes it once had on the forehead, and the hero bears new armor on his shoulders and chest. There is also no belt on the new uniform, and there seems to be a lot more red on the legs.

The belt was crucial to the narrative of the solo film, but is unlikely to feature prominently in this new movie.

While fans might be excited to learn more about Ant-Man's new look, there is still a lot left unknown about the character's role in the upcoming film.

A trailer showed him fawning over meeting Captain America, and we all know that he is brought on by the Falcon after their confrontation in "Ant-Man." It is also known that the superhero will be siding with Captain America in his battle against Iron Man.

But that is basically the full extent of our knowledge regarding the hero in the upcoming film.

While his role in "Captain America" is still a bit mysterious, Ant-Man will play a very prominent role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general, as Disney recently announced that another standalone movie would be released starring the hero in 2018.

"Captain America: Civil War" opens on May 6, 2016. The movie pits Iron Man against Captain America in a crucial battle to determine the future of superhero identities. Iron Man is in favor of having all superheroes register their identities, while Captain America wants a bit more freedom in that respect.

Captain America gets the support of such heroes as Ant-Man, Falcon, Hawkeye and the Winter Soldier. Iron Man's troops include the Black Panther, Black Widow, War Machine and Vision.
