The Kazakh knockout master Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is only a bit scared of the Canadian boxer David Lemieux, whom he will face in a middleweight unification battle on Oct. 17 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

The World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization king clarified on Boxing Scene that he is not actually that afraid to share the same ring with the International Boxing Federation titleholder as what people think.

"I'm scared only like 1 percent, not 100 percent, but only 1 percent. I'm a regular guy, I'm a man. Everyone is a little bit scared....maybe 1 percent," the ferocious "Triple G" said.

In a video clip posted by Fight Hype, Golovkin dubbed Lemieux, who posts an 86 percent knockout rating, per BoxRec, as "dangerous." However, Golovkin explained that Lemieux just rightfully deserved the description because he is a boxing champion, after all.

In another interview via Fight News, the 33-year-old Kazakh boxer admitted that facing Lemieux in a unification fight is a "big test" for him. Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, who promotes "GGG," and boxing coach Abel Sanchez feel that Lemieux's credentials and confidence will bring some challenge into the upcoming fight.

Yet, even though Golovkin is "one percent" scared of his challenger, he makes sure that he is ready for this big event. "GGG" claims he is prepared for the explosive showdown, which he reportedly predicts to be a huge "drama show," in any way it will turn out to be.

"Of course I'm ready 100 percent [for the knockout]. I'm ready for a decision fight. I'm ready for a short fight. I'm ready for a street fight. Whatever David wants. Whatever the people want," Golovkin said.

The warrior, who posts a 91 percent knockout rating, per BoxRec, is also seen in a fantastic shape while training for the Golovkin-Lemieux showdown.

If "Triple G" is ready for his huge challenge, so is Lemieux, said the Canadian boxer's manager Camille Esteban, a separate article of Boxing Scene noted.

"Lemieux will win by knockout. It's going to be a great war. It's going to be two guys who want it really badly, but it is going to be our night and Lemieux is going to come out with his hands raised after a beautiful knockout," Esteban said.

The 26-year-old boxer also feels he has what it takes to triumph over the formidable Kazakh, Boxing News 24 informed.

"I've had many ups and downs I've come back from, and now I'm up and I'm stepping up. If he's the Goliath, and I'm David, then we got to do what we got to do," Lemieux said in the face-off with Max Kellerman on HBO.
