Season 5 of the highly anticipated CBS drama series "Person of Interest" has finally released a trailer ahead of its midseason premiere next January.

According to Deadline, "POI" has made its fifth consecutive appearance at New York Comic Con, and for fans, it was a welcoming presentation to say the least.

Die-hard fans of the series know last season was left with a quite a cliffhanger. Although they were able to outmaneuver their enemies, the machine had to be completely destroyed. At least that is what their enemies were made to think. But when the "POI" team walked out with the Machines software downloaded, then it lives to fight another day.

Suffice it to say that this season is going to be all about rebuilding the Machine and making it the stalwart device it was originally created to be.

The trailer was more of a one-sided tease for how the season is going to start. Basically, it featured actors Michael Emerson, Amy Acker and Jim Caviezel working in different capacities around the office in an attempt to bring the Machine back online. But it got really buggy and the facial recognition software was malfunctioning.

It was in fact kind of comical in a way to see the Machine interchanging the actors faces with one another, wrongfully identifying each person when it zeroed in on them.

But what is especially pleasing about the episode is that the Machine is alive and well, even if it is still trying to work out its bugs.

Season 5 has been lingering for the network, and when it was pushed back to a mid-season start, fans were worried that it was in danger of being canceled. With it being a midseason premiere, that also means the episode count has been shortened to 13 this year instead of the normal 22.
