Known in the smarphone industry as the leading leakster of all things mobile technology, @evleaks tweeted a new set of photos for the upcoming HTC One 2, or HTC One Up, or HTC One 2014, or whatever it's going to be called.

The latest edition of news to come from the world of HTC One's successor, which HTC will be officially reveal during its press conference in New York and London on March 25, is that the device could come with some sleek new phone covers.

The photos reveal a set of colorful phone covers -- red, green, black and blue -- that are punctured with tiny holes, which allow the LED lights from the device to shine through.

The covers give users the ability to view the local time and weather without having to remove the phone from the case.

Additionally, the new phone, just the same as its predecessor, will come equipped with Google Play edition, a feature on the latest Android phones that provides fast software updates, video streaming, emailing and web surfing.

While the phone's official name is yet to be released, its M8 codename seems to give credence to the rumors that this is the sequel to the HTC One as it was nicknamed M7 before its official unveiling.

The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is facing off against some stiff competition this year as the latest device will go up against Samsung's Galaxy S5, Sony's Xperia Z2 and Apple's iPhone 6.

The U.K.'s Mobile Fun website already put the phone up for sale and listed the unreleased Sim Free HTC One 2014 32GB device at £579.99.

The rumored features surrounding HTC's One Up include a 5.1-inch screen with no physical button, a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, a 4MP front camera, a microSD card slot and a 2900mAh battery with LTE connectivity.
