Along with a whole host of other rumored features, it has recently been suggested that the Galaxy S7 will be coming with a USB Type-C port.

This feature has been making its way to a lot of recent Android devices and for good reason. The USB Type-C has been credited for allowing faster charging, faster data transfer, and a reversible cable to allow it to be plugged in from either direction. This addition would put the S7 in the same group as the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, OnePlus 2 and Xiaomi Mi 4c.

The USB Type-C also allows for backwards compatibility, however an adaptor would be required for this process. It is unclear if the interchangeable adaptor would be sold with the phone or separately.

Three Different Models (?)

In support of the Galaxy S7 being Samsung's fastest phone yet, another rumor has surfaced that claims the device will be released in three different models instead of the previously rumored two.

Tech blog SamMobile claims that one model will boast the rumored Exynos 8890 chip, codenamed "Mongoose," another will host the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chip, and the third will use the Exynos 7422 chip, which was originally rumored for the Galaxy Note 5.

The new Exynos 8890 chip is expected to only be made available to Korea, Japan, and Europe, and will hope to introduce a new level of LTE speed to the market.

Whether this remains to be true or even finalized, consumers can most definitely expect the S7 to feature 3GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel ISOCELL camera and two different sized phones (a 5.2-inch model and a 5.8-inch model).

Release Date in January 2016?

Samsung has yet to officially speak out against any of the rumors. The unveiling is expected to take place January 2016 with a market launch in February.
