For the first time in a long while, "Saved by the Bell" alum Dustin Diamond is making news for something positive.

In the years following his stint as Samuel "Screech" Powers on the popular '90s sitcom, Diamond gained tons of negative publicity for allegedly starring in a sex tape, releasing a tell-all book about his fellow "Saved by the Bell" stars, and -- most recently --- serving jail time for stabbing a man during a bar fight last Christmas.

However, months after being convicted of two misdemeanor counts in connection with the 2014 bar stabbing, Diamond is back to doing what he does best -- making people laugh.

Fans of the former "Celebrity Fit Club" star can catch him doing stand-up comedy at the Funny Bone Valley Park in St. Louis on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9:30 p.m. for 20 bucks, reports STLtoday. He also performed at the Funny Bone on Thursday and Friday.

The "Celebrity Big Brother" star is also set to perform in Florida next week, including at Sports Page in Satellite Beach on Oct. 27 and at Dave's Downtown Lounge in Titusville on Oct. 29.

During an interview with Florida Today, Diamond revealed that performing stand-up comedy is a passion that he has been doing for more than 18 years.

"I see what I do as an opportunity to make people laugh," he said. "You can be having a bad day, say you had a flat tire or your work was hard on you. You can come to a comedy show and just forget about your troubles for a little bit. If I can make you laugh or get one good belly laugh out of you, I have done my job. To me, that's a powerful thing and that is what I love most about it and why I keep doing this."
