Lollapalooza 2014 is scheduled to take place on the weekend of Aug. 1-3, 2014. The three day program will have plenty of activities before, during and after the show that will take place within the city of Chicago. There will be approximately 70 bands who will perform their acts on the five stages at the festival. Participants can also expect late night parties in Chicago hotels.

Many popular bands have performed at Lollapalooza stages and newer bands are added to its lineup every year. For this year's Lollapalooza 2014 lineup, the rumored groups include the principal favorites: Pixies, Outkast, Nine Inch Nails and Arcade Fire. The Chicago Tribune announced that the newest rumors on its lineup include:

  • Eminem, who was present at the 2011 Lollapalooza;
  • Skrillex, who is a regular of Lollapalooza; his first appearance was in 2011, then in 2013 with his side project, Dog Blood;
  • Kings of Leon, who performed at the 2009 Lollapalooza;
  • Arctic Monkeys, who appeared in 2009 and had their last Lollapalooza appearance in 2011.

Lollapalooza was started in 1991 by Perry Farrell, lead singer of Jane's Addiction. From then onwards, the festival became one of the greatest music festivals during Summer until 1997. It took a break after that and resumed in 2003, stopping in 2004 due to the heavy expenses. Lollapalooza made a comeback in Chicago in 2005 and has remained there as a three-day event after Farrell and Austin-based C3 Presents struck a partnership. It is held in Grant Park, which is situated in the Chicago city area.

Lollapalooza draws consistent crowds and gathered about 300,000 audience members last year. Tickets for Lollapalooza 2014 will go on sale starting Tuesday, March 25. Prices of tickets range from $105 to $1,100, depending on the area where you sit and what day you will watch the show.
