Suzy Cortez, who represents Distrito Federal, on Monday beat out the 14 other finalists to win the coveted title of Miss Bumbum 2015 in São Paolo, Brazil.

Cortez won after performing a dance routine for the judges and walking down the runway in a bikini to show off her derriere.

According to the Daily Mail, after her win, Cortez gave a statement.

"I've been preparing myself for the past four months. I've always wanted to win this contest," she said. "I dedicated myself completely. I dieted and did rigorous training."

The winner shared photos from her burlesque-inspired dance routine during the finale on her Instagram account.

Camila Gomes, who represented Minas Gerais, came in second and Dani Sperle of Rio de Janeiro finished in third place.

According to Divirta-se, Gomes had previously revealed that, if she were to win the competition, she would dedicate the honor to her mother. Gomes said her mother, who died after a three-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis last year, was the closest person in her life.

"It was very hard for me to get over it. She was everything in my life. I would dedicate the award to her," she said.

While she didn't win, Gomes did come very close and had also revealed that she mentally prepared herself for the possibility of losing.

More than 500 women applied to take part in the fifth installment of the annual Brazilian competition. Only 27 were chosen to move on to the voting stage of the competition and were then reduced to 15 finalists based on votes.

This year, the competition wasn't without controversial news. Contestant Fernanda Paulino attempted suicide after she was cut from the top 15.

Also, after contestant Andressa Urach almost died from an infection caused by implants, this year, contestants had to prove that they had not had any plastic surgery or used chemical products.
