The Pokémon Company, in cooperation with three big-name corporations, announced back in September that it will soon release a game app that will bring Pokémons to the real world. It was also during that time when the entire Pokémon fandom on the internet lost their collective minds, and rightfully so.

"Pokémon Go" is produced by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Google and augmented-reality games expert Niantic Inc. The upcoming free-to-play game app on iOS and Android lets players search, capture, trade and even battle Pokémons in real-time.

"For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world," Niantic Inc. founder John Hanke told PC Advisor.

Up until now, there's still no official word regarding when "Pokémon Go" will be released. The uncertainty, mixed with much-deserved anticipation, has prompted many to speculate on the game's actual launch date.

The most convincing speculation out there claims that the game will debut in early 2016. This information comes from a YouTube video created by a not-so-official Pokémon GO channel, in which a fan explains why Feb. 27, 2016 is the most plausible launch date.

This is due to the fact that during the game's announcement conference two months ago, which you can read more about here, Game Freak director Junichi Masuda reminded everyone that next year marks the 20th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green. Both titles were the original Nintendo GameBoy games that kicked off the highly-popular gaming franchise.

It makes reasonable sense that the most ambitious entry in the franchise would release in commemoration of the landmark anniversary. But again, this is mere speculation, but a more valid one at that.

The early 2016 launch date seems like a very short span of time between announcement and release for such a big game. February is just three months away. Surely, we would have heard something by now.

The Pokémon Company, Nintendo and Google have invested a combined $30 million on Niantic Inc. to continue development on the game, per Business Wire.

"The Pokémon Company, Google and Nintendo are incredible investors and strategic partners to help build the next chapter for Niantic. We will be using this capital to continue the development of Pokémon GO, to evolve and grow Ingress and its thriving global community, and to build out our real-world gaming platform," said John Hanke.

Meanwhile, Google has complete trusts on Niantic's top-class storytelling and proficiency in augmented-reality gaming.

"Niantic has shown the great potential of mixing geo-location technology, dynamic storytelling and innovative game design, and we're excited to continue supporting the team on their journey," commented Don Harrison, Google's vice president for corporate development.
