The gaming studio behind "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will be treating PlayStation 4 owners with two more games.

In a recent interview with Finder, Arne Meyer, Naughty Dog's community strategist, was asked if the first-party Sony studio plans to make another title for PlayStation 4.

"I would hope so," Meyer replied. "I would hope we would release a game pretty soon. Our development cycles aren't too long, and I have no idea how long this console generation really is going to last, but, yeah, there's no doubt it should be in this console generation for sure."

Meyer was presented with concerns regarding how many PlayStation 4 games are still left to be released, considering Nintendo is preparing to launch a sequel to the Wii U.

"I mean I have no doubt -- I don't know what the timelines are -- but we [Naughty Dog] have at least one, maybe two games left in the console generation, maybe more," he said. "Clearly we can release a game really late in a console generation and do well, right?"

In September, Naughty Dog's creative chief, Neil Druckmann, said that they made a prototype for "The Last of Us 2," but development for the sequel was stalled since the studio was busy ironing out "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."

"When Bruce [Straley, co-director] and I moved over to 'Uncharted 4,' we were brainstorming ideas for 'The Last of Us 2' with characters; ideas for 'TLOU 2' with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas," explained Druckmann in a statement shared by GamesRadar.

"And just as we were getting close to settling or narrowing that list down, we were asked to work on 'Uncharted 4,'" he added.

During the same month, Sony Computer Entertainment President Shuhei Yoshida confirmed that Naughty Dog was conceptualizing ideas for a sequel, but a tangible output would not appear for a while.

"We haven't confirmed 'The Last of Us 2,'" Yoshida told Eurogamer. "But ever since the launch of the first game, people like ['The Last of Us' creative director Neil Druckmann] are talking about some ideas for a potential sequel, some experiments that they want to do. It's just talks around development."

Yoshida went on to say that Sony has "no confirmed information" regarding the sequel. However, the executive said that he is eager to see what Naughty Dog has in store.

"Like many people, we wish to see what it's going to be like, how the story's going to develop, what life these characters have after what happened in The Last of Us," said Yoshida.
