Mariah Carey has released the trailer for her Hallmark Channel film "A Christmas Melody."

The 45-year-old "Always Be My Baby" singer directed and stared in the upcoming made-for-TV Christmas movie, according to Billboard.

Carey is seen in the clip, along with Lacey Chabert, who plays the film's main character Kristin, a clothing designer who is forced to sell her small Manhattan boutique and return to her hometown in Ohio to live with her parents with her daughter Emily. To make things worse, Kristin runs into Melissa, played by Carey, president of the PTA, who makes her feel unwelcome.

"Kristen and Emily struggle to find their new normal with the help of the music teacher Danny (Brennan Elliott) and Kristin's Aunt Sarah (Kathy Najimy), the local coffee shop owner. With a little holiday magic and music, Kristin and Emily find that home is where the heart is," reads a press release for the film.

While Carey won't be singing in the movie, her holiday song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is featured. Carey first released this track in 1994 as part of her first holiday album and fourth studio album, "Merry Christmas." The track topped the U.S. Billboard Holiday Songs chart.

David Diamond and David Weissman penned the script for the holiday family-friendly film.

The singer released her fourteenth studio album, "Me. I Am Mariah . . . The Elusive Chanteuse," on May 24, 2014. The album produced the singles "#Beautiful," "The Art of Letting Go," "You're Mine (Eternal)" and "You Don't Know What to Do." This album topped the U.S. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Carey began dating billionaire James Packer about five months and has already moved in with him, but the exact residence remains a secret.

"A Christmas Melody" debuts on the Hallmark channel on Saturday, Dec. 19.
