This year's American Music Awards are making way for several Latin artists to command the stage and take home prizes.

The 43rd Annual American Music Awards will be held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez.

While assuming her duties as host, Lopez will also perform during the event. Lopez released her last album, "A.K.A.," her eighth studio LP, on June 13, 2014. This album, which topped the U.S. Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, produced the singles "I Luh Ya Papi," "First Love" and "Booty."

Additional female Latin artists to perform throughout the evening include Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Gomez recently released her second solo studio album, "Revival," on Oct. 9. The album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, has produced the singles "Good for You" and "Same Old Love."

Lovato also released a new album recently with "Confident," her fifth studio LP, which has produced the singles "Cool for the Summer" and the title track. This album peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200.

Some of the Latin male artists nominated at this year's awards show include Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin and Romeo Santos. All three artists are competing against each other for the Favorite Latin Artist honor.

Iglesias has won six of these AMA trophies and has been nominated in the category each year since 1998. He released his last album, "Sex and Love," his tenth studio LP, on March 18, 2014. This album, which topped the U.S. Latin Pop Albums and Top Latin Albums chart, produced several singles including "Finally Found You," "Turn the Night Up," "Loco," "Heart Attack," "I'm a Freak" and "There Goes My Baby."

Martin released his last album "A Quien Quiera Escuchar," his 10th studio LP, on Feb. 10. This album, which topped the U.S. Latin Pop Albums and Top Latin Albums charts, produced the singles "Adios," "Disparo al Corazon" and "La Mordidita."

Santos released his second studio album, "Formula, Vol. 2" on Feb. 25, 2014. This album, which topped the U.S. Top Latin Albums, Mexican Albums and Tropical Albums charts, produced the singles "Propuesta Indecente," "Odio," "Cancioncitas de Amar" and "Eres Mia."

The 2015 American Music Awards will take place on Sunday, Nov. 22 and air at 8 p.m. on ABC.
