A woman's body was found hanging from a tree in the woods on Long Island, and is believed to be the body of a person who disappeared last month.

"Police believe a body found hanging in the woods belongs to this missing woman, lawyer says," Newsday tweeted a photo of the woman.

Lilia Aucapina went missing on Oct. 10. A hunter found her body hanging from a branch behind her home in Sagaponack.

The woman's lawyer, Colin Astarita, said she committed suicide and that her death was not a "total shock."

Aucapina had two children and died at the age of 40. Her estranged husband, Carlos R. Aucapina, was brought in for questioning since he violated an order of protection his wife had against him. The 50-year-old man was later released.

Cops learned that the woman hung herself just hours after fighting with her husband. Yet, her husband allegedly saw a man drive his wife into a parking lot the morning or her disappearance. Southampton Police spent weeks searching for the woman but had no leads.

Meanwhile, a Washington College student who went missing on Monday was found dead on Saturday. Police said Jacob Marberger was found with what looked like a self-inflicted wound to the head.

His body was found in a picnic area of the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in eastern Pennsylvania. Authorities say he fell victim to an on-campus prank last month and was seen on camera with an unloaded firearm.

"He was not pointing it at anybody, he wasn't threatening anybody with it -- it sounds like he was brandishing it, bragging about it," Washington College President Sheila Bair said at a news conference.

The 19-year-old was also recently kicked out of his fraternity and had resigned from the Student Government Association.

Washington College closed early for Thanksgiving break because of the incident and will resume classes on Nov. 30.
