Former NXT champion Sami Zayn has been absent from television since May 20 after being taken out by Kevin Owens at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. He seems close to returning because WWE.com is advertising Zayn for all the NXT Live Events in the U.K., including NXT TakeOver: London on Dec. 16.

However, he is not listed for any other NXT event after the U.K.tour and WWE tends to make errors on their advertising page. Daily DDT notes that it may not be a mistake because Zayn is scheduled to appear in all of the events from Dec. 10 to Dec. 16.

The 31-year-old wrestler suffered a shoulder injury just seconds before his main roster debut on the May 4 edition of Monday Night Raw. He went through with the match against John Cena for the U.S. championship but lost after a very entertaining bout.

Zayn was written off television when Owens assaulted him at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, but he needed surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and was ruled out for three to six months to recover. In a report by PWInsider via Wrestling Inc, Zayn was seen at the WWE Performance Center in Florida where he was doing some light training and work out.

Back in June, it was reported that he would be back by October, but he did not progress the way WWE officials expected. In the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn last August, Zayn revealed that he was still a few months away from returning, but he had been doing his best to make it back for the fans.

Daily DDT also suggested that the perfect return for the former NXT champion is at the 2016 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He could enter the Rumble and eliminate Owens from it, setting up an Intercontinental Title match at WrestleMania 32.

He could also see time in NXT TV to shake off some ring rust before going back to the main roster. WWE shouldn't rush Zayn's return as he is a very vital part of the company's future. His character is the ultimate babyface that fans would want to cheer.

According to Bleacher Report, Zayn is a very marketable star as he is of Syrian descent and can speak Arabic that can increase WWEs popularity in more than 20 countries that speak the language. He has the in-ring ability and charisma that can rival Daniel Bryan's popularity and even become a future world champion. He also has the ability to put up great and entertaining matches every time he steps in the ring, as evidenced by his bouts with Cesaro and Neville.
