It's been 20 years since the release of popular Mexican televovela "Maria la del Barrio," which starred Thalía as the title character, and while we know what Thalía and Fernando Colunga look like today, we haven't seen much of some of the other characters.

The telenovela features arguably one of the most popular melodramatic scenes in Latino television history. In the scene one of the telenovela's villains goes on a psychopathic rage and attacks everyone, including the son of Thalía's María, Nandito, who gets stabbed with a pair of scissors.

This is what Nandito, played by Osvaldo Benavides, looked like at 14 years old in his first lead role, which won him a TVyNovelas Award for Best Young Actor in 1996.

And this is what Nadito looks like today as a 36-year-old adult, in a scene from his latest telenovela, "A que no me dejas."

The actor, who stays under the radar of gossip magazines, shares moments from his life with photos on Instagram and recently shared photos from his gig as host of the Lunas del Auditorio Awards with Jacky Bracamontes.

While surprising to see what Benavides looks all grown up, he hasn't been out of the public eye. In fact the actor has kept busy with a variety of roles.

Since appearing in "Maria la del Barrio," Benavides has appeared in several recurring and lead roles, including "Locura de amor," "Daniela," "La que no podía amar," which also starred Angelique Boyer, Sebastián Rulli and Daniela Castro, and "Lo que la vida me robó."

This year, Benavides was nominated for and won the award Best Supporting Actor at the TVyNovelas Awards, for his role in "Lo que la vida me robó" and also won a Diosa de Plata Award for Best Role of Men for "La dictadura perfecta."
