Ahead of the Black Friday shopping rush, LG and Verizon have announced two new smartphone deals that are perfect for frugal customers.

Those who purchase Verizon's version of the LG G4 or V10 will receive a free prepaid card worth $100. The promo runs until Christmas Day, Dec. 25. In order to acquire the prepaid card, interested takers will have to register at LGPhoneRebates. Make sure to go through all the terms and conditions.

The discount doesn't end there as Verizon is slashing $100 off the price of the V10 on Black Friday. With the aforementioned promo already in place, customers can save a total of $200 if they buy the smartphone on Nov. 27.

For the time being, Verizon is retailing the G4 for $552 off contract. That's $23 per month for two years. Meanwhile, the V10 is more expensive at $672 or $28 per month.

When it launched in April, the G4 was dubbed by many as one of the most intriguing Android devices of 2015. It was marketed as a mid-range smartphone, but some of its innards were surprisingly top-tier.

The G4 sports a 5.5-inch screen with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD display. It is powered by Qualcomm's six-core Snapdragon 808 SoC plus the Adreno 418 GPU. There's 3GB of RAM, 32GB of native storage and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel OIS rear camera and an eight-megapixel selfie snapper. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out the box, but a firmware patch carrying Android 6.0 is expected to roll out before the year ends.

"It might not be as technically powerful as some of LG's other recent releases, but the G4 as a package is the most compelling the company has put out yet," said handset reviewer Chris Velazco of EnGadget. "From the pared-down user interface to the tight integration with Google to the strong camera performance, the G4 is a great phone."

As for the LG V10, its specs include a bigger 5.7-inch QHD resolution display, a 2.1-inch 1024 x 160 secondary display, 4GB of RAM, 6GB of native storage and a 3,000 mAh battery. The same Snapdragon 808 SoC is under the hood carrying the Adreno 418 GPU. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is pre-installed.

The handset is fitted with a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, laser autofocus and OIS while selfies and video chats are taken care of by two five-megapixel front-facing units.

Why the need for an extra front camera? Well, according to LG via GizMag, the setup allows users to capture clearer, wide-angle 120-degree selfies by combining the images of both cameras. It basically works like human eyes. More lenses offer a wider depth of field.
