"Star Wars Battlefront" is just a week old. While most gamers are busying leveling up in the game, others have been hard-pressed on improving the game itself.

One intrepid modder, in particular, has created an impressive photorealistic graphics version of the latest sci-fi title and plans to use the publicity to amass possible employers.

The modification, dubbed as the "Toddyhancer," is the brainchild of Martin Bergman. He's still ironing out minor details of the graphics version, but it will be made available to the public anytime soon.

Word of the photorealistic mod got out after Bergman posted magnificent screenshots of Tatooine on his official Imgur page. The desert planet might not be the ideal environment to flaunt the high-definition graphics, but the results are stunning nonetheless.

Bergman admits that the visual splendor comes at a cost. Gamers keen on maintaining 60 fps will be saddened to know that even powerful PC systems are slowed down to about 30 fps due to the surge in graphical demand. EA DICE's visual setup for the game is remarkable on its own. However, some gamers might still want to download Bergman's version, regardless of frame rate issues.

Solely based on its gameplay, "Star Wars Battlefront" has garnered generally positive reviews.GameSpot gave it a seven out of 10 while The Guardian believed it was deserving of three out of five stars.

"Star Wars Battlefront's simplicity cuts both ways, embracing new players while most likely leaving more seasoned ones cold after a short while," said game reviewer Martin Robinson of EuroGamer. "As a multiplayer shooter, it's good but never quite great, but maybe that's besides the point. As a piece of Star Wars merchandise, wrapped in the glorious trappings of one of cinema's most intoxicating franchises, this is pretty much exemplary."

Most of the flak the game has received can be attributed to its apparent lack of game modes and exorbitant DLCs, which might as well be released as separate games. Film and video game critic Jeremy Jahns explains further in this YouTube video.

Meanwhile, EA DICE will soon be releasing an all-new 40 player multiplayer match mode. Using the "Toddyhancer" mod during those battles will surely impact frame rates, but think about the stunning screenshots one could capture!

As for Bergman, some might remember him as the same modder who made a photorealistic version of "Grand Theft Auto 5," which you can read more here.
